Following a rather embarrassing leak, Nikon has been forced to formally announce two new compact cameras, the s1100pj and the s5100 – part of their Coolpix range.
The s5100 boasts 12.2 MP with enhanced motion detection and a new flash control system. The EXPEED C2 processing system has been given an upgrade where a faster response time and capturing objects with more clarity will make this quite a desirable model for release around September. No price has yet been stapled to the camera.
The s1100pj is an update to the s1000pj and – as does the s5100 – features an in-built projector for displaying snaps on the wall. At 14 lumen better images in daylight conditions are a cert and with a 14.1 MP sensor, 5 x zoom, a host of mood and setting features and the ability to add music files to a slideshow presentation – it does sound worth it’s salt at £349.99.
This model will be in stores on 16 September.
